The Snowboard Asylum is proud to be a sponsor of the Dawn of the Shred competition 2009. Returning for a third year the competition taking place at both an indoor slope at Xscape Milton Keynes on the 30th May and the only open UK comp on real snow at Cairngorm Mountain, Scotland on the 18th April.
The Vans park is taking shape in Aviemore, the crew have been out shaping kickers, rails and boxes to top last years set up, If the monster kicker that was built on that very mountain last season is anything to go by, this year the park is sure to be one hell of a ride.
Milton Keynes SNO!zone will be pulling out an all-nighter, the slope will be open from 8pm-12am for the comp. With each sponsor getting their own feature on the slopestyle course we will have to see how many of the riders will man up and stomp the “TSA Gap of Destiny” kicker. Post shred make your way to the bar where live bands and DJs will be entertaining till late, watch this space for bands to be announced soon.
To top this all off the Vans UK skate team will be in attendance hitting up the mini ramp set up directly on the slope!
Both dates of the event are open to the public, so the host of prizes on offer are anyone’s to take. An immense donation has been supplied by our sponsored chalet in Morzine, Ride and Slide, of an all expenses paid stay at their 5 star haven. A £1000 purse prize is up for grabs at each event and spot prizes will also go to best trick and best outfit.
