| Jake | BOMBPROOF I disagree with Jim, that is one of the toughest jackets on the market build from best available materials! How can you be disappointed that the jacket is lightweight??? What kind of "extra" material would you like on this jacket??? And why didn't you go for the new model of TNF mountain guide if you liked it so much? That Theta is exactly what was it design for: lighweight multipurpose hardshell for severe weather conditions. |
|
| Andrew | Never mind the quality, feel the weight. To Jim – it appears from your review that you haven’t used the jacket (on the mountain) yet? Maybe you could try it in the environment for which it was designed and then post a review based on performance as opposed to weight? And it’s probably been ten years since North Face produced any garment of worth, maybe you got the last one. |

| Nick | Theta SV This jacket has the same features as the award winning SV Alpha with a longer lengh for tall people, Wwhis is better for some who are adding base and mid layers. I have to point out that TNF mountain guide now only offer the version in Gore Tex 2 layer performance shell. Anyway, it would be even better if Arcteryx could offer all ther waterproof shell in a longer lengh. |

| Jim | Arcteryx Theta SV Jacket In my opinion this is far from £400 worth of jacket. "Goretex Pro-shell Fortress" Well it does exactly what it says on the tin, however for £400 I was expecting a little bit more for my money. It's been about 10 years since I last ordered a top spec mountain jacket...the last one being a north face mountain guide jacket - lets just say it appears that they have stopped making them like they used to. This Arcteryx jacket feels more like a paclite waterproof than a Pro-shell fortress. I know light-weight gear is a must have but I doubt this jacket will last as long as my old north face "true weather fortress". In a nutshell - dissapointed with the weight...diappointed with the lack of material/jacket! |
