ALL MOUNTAIN SNOWBOARDS
This catch it all category is as the name suggests a series of boards that are designed to handle the whole mountain. Usually the all mountain board differs from the freestyle/all terrain board in that it leans slightly more to gunning around the mountain than it does cruising through the park.
Although versatile enough to still take into the park it focus’s a little bit more on performance over the rest of the mountain, what you could really call general snowboarding. All terrain boards are usually either fully directional or directional twin in shape and flex. This shape means that the board is optimised to deliver more performance when travelling in one direction although most all terrain boards are still capable of riding switch. Freestyle boards can be both rockered and cambered or a combination of the two, this is generally decided by personal preference on what kind of riding characteristics the rider wants.
