The Freestyle board with the heart of a powder board

As one of the most innovative and unique snowboards on the market, Bataleon's Magic Carpet has transformed how we look at backcountry snowboarding. Built around a state of the art twin tip shape, it utilises a specially developed Twin derivative of Bataleon's Pow 3BT with SideKicks profile. Delivering a level of float in the pow that is on a par with even the most powder specific snowboards, the Magic Carpet's is a revelation. However, unlike most powder specific boards, it gives you that balance you only get with a twin, meaning that the back-country takes on a whole new dimension. But don't go thinking that this board is all about powder riding, it's also one of the most fun to ride freestyle/all-terrain boards there is, so it's not going to feel out of place as your only board.

Rider Style
Experienced freestyle riders looking for a great fun all terrain board that steps it up when you hit the pow.

Shape Overview
The Magic Carpets unique twin tip shape is the key to its stunning performance. Its unique powder inspired nose and tail takes inspiration from Bataleon's highly acclaimed CT and is designed to deliver unrivalled float with relatively low swing weight. By integrating this at both the nose and tail of the board ensure that no matter if you're riding forwards or backwards you're still going to get the same unrivalled level of float. This means that no matter how technical you get in the back-country, the Magic Carpet will ride regular or switch landings with ease.

Key to the Magic Carpets unique performance is the Twin Pow 3BT Base profile. This freestyle powder specific shape features a narrow centre base and exaggerated symmetrical tip and tail side base uplift featuring SideKick. This delivers incredible float in pow with a fun and playful overall ride. Now, as with all Bataleon models, the Magic Carpet features a traditional camber profile. In this instance, it's the low-rise version; this is designed to deliver the optimum balance of performance and freestyle control.

Side Kicks
SideKick dramatically increases the side base uplift just outside the widest part of the nose and tail. This makes turn initiation smoother, increases float in powder and improves handling of the board in rough terrain.

Internally the Magic Carpet utilises some of the most advanced construction available to deliver its unique performance. Heading this up is the all-new Light Core. This featherweight wood core combines poplar with lightweight paulownia to deliver the optimum balance of weight, strength and performance. Also new for this season is the addition of Bataleon's new D.S.T reinforcing. This places hollow carbon rods into milled out channels running along the edges on the base of the core, stepping up pop as well as powering up the camber for more snap and drive. Now to give the Magic Carpet its responsive ride, the structural layers are formed from torsionally stiffer tri-ax glass. These are then further reinforced with carbon stringers running from either side of the inset packs out to both the nose and tail, powering up the tips for increased ollie performance and enhanced drive into and out of the turn.

To deliver great performance across all snow conditions, the Magic Carpet utilises the high-end Hyper Glide S sintered base. This high-performance base material delivers stunning performance as well as being strong and durable.
