HIGH-END PARK BOARD THAT CAN RIP THE MOUNTAIN

The Paramount is a new addition to the Burton range for 18/19 and follows in the footsteps of legendary boards like the Parkitect and the Dominant. Aimed squarely at experienced freestyle riders, this stunning new board utilises high-end construction and an advanced low profile twin tip shape to deliver class-leading performance in the park. However, unlike many freestyle boards, the Paramount isn't going to keep you locked in the park. Thanks to that high-end build and the traditional camber profile, this is one board that's not going to feel out of its depth out and about on the hill.

Rider Profile
Experienced park riders who are looking for a high-performance jib board that rips out and about on the mountain.

Shape Overview
The Paramount utilises a low-profile tip and tail true twin shape. This is perfectly symmetrical and delivers a balanced ride that's equally versatile when ridden regular or switch. No matter if you're Jibbing, spinning, stomping landings or even just buttering around, the twin shape delivers the ultimate in freestyle balance and stability. Now one of the key reasons that the Paramount rides so well outside the park is down to the innovative Frost Bite edges. Frostbite Edges extend out slightly beneath your bindings for tremendous edge-hold on hard, icy conditions. Powerful when you need them, playful when you don't, Frostbite Edges are hungry for hard-pack while remaining smooth, flowing, and forgiving.

Profile
As the Paramount is all about high-performance park riding, anything other than a traditional camber would be pointless. An advocate of powerful turns and poppy precision and rock-solid stability, camber speaks to the core values of board design. Delivering a responsive ride, the camber distributes weight evenly over the entire length of the board for smooth, continuous edge control from tip to tail.

Construction
As the Paramount is all about high performance both in the park and out on the mountain, it utilises some of the most up to date construction available. Heading this up is the advanced Squeezebox FSC Super Fly II™ 700G Core with Dualzone™ EGD™. This state of the art profiled wood core uses stronger and lighter woods targeted to specific areas of the core to provide pop, strength, and reduced weight. To fine tune this even further, the wood grain is positioned along the toe and heel edges on two continuous zones, perpendicular to the rest of the wood core. This gives consistent edge-hold and added strength. When it comes to the board's structural layers, once again the Paramount leads the way. Formed from Burton's unique 45° Carbon Highlights glass which optimises each layer of the fibreglass matrix and adds a full tip-to-tail carbon layer to reduce weight and fine tune torsional feel to achieve the ideal riding characteristics.
Base
To deliver a super-fast glide in all conditions, the Paramount uses Burtons exclusive WFO Base. This unique base material Infuses a specially formulated wax deep into the pores of this extra-absorbent, high-density sintered material. This results in an ultra-durable base that stays Wide Open all season in any condition.
