THE ALL NEW KING OF FREERIDE SNOWBOARDING

It’s safe to say that it was the Flagship that almost single handily put Jones Snowboards on the map. Its stunning freeride performance was a game changer and pretty much kick-started the freeride revolution that dominates snowboarding today. So good was the original board that it pretty much stayed the same for nine years. Well for their 10th anniversary, Jones has consigned the original Flagship to history and have delivered a completely new version for 19/20. With an entirely new shape and construction, the all-new Flagship yet again moves the goalposts in freeride board design. Utilising a fully directional blunt diamond tapered shape and re-engineered materials, the new Flagship floats better, turns better and rides better. So, if you’re an experienced rider who is looking for the ultimate in big mountain freeride performance, the all-new Flagship is quite possibly the only board that needs to be on your shopping list.

Rider Style

Advanced to Expert riders who are looking for a high-performance freeride board that won’t ever feel wanting.

Shape Overview

The Flagship features an all-new fully directional shape which utilises an innovative blunt diamond nose and tail profile. This state of the art shape tricks the board into thinking it has a longer nose, which helps channel the flow of snow under the front, increasing both float and lift. However, as the nose length is still relatively short, the new Flagship has a surprisingly low swing weight, giving the rider a more controllable and balanced overall ride. Now as the new Flagship is all about performance, Jones fit it with their innovative Traction Tech 3.0 sidecut profile. This adds small bumps along the length of the sidecut, creating additional traction points at the edges. These deliver a more stable and secure ride without the unpredictability of other manipulated sidecuts.

Profile

The new Flagships freeride specific Directional Rocker profile combines an extended rocker zone at the nose with a set-back camber between the inserts and a shorter rocker at the tail. This profile allows the board to float effortlessly in deep snow while still delivering a powerful and dynamic ride on hardpack terrain. The shorter rocker at the tail when combined with the stiffer flex helps create a more responsive and stable feel at the back of the board while increasing power out the back of the turn.

3D Contour Base 3.0

One of the key features that set the new Flagship apart from other freeride boards is the innovative 3D Contour Base profile. This unique design adds an even balance of 7mm spoon at both the nose and tail running from the start of the board's rocker zone. Although this bevel doesn’t look much to the naked eye, it transforms the way the board rides. Turn initiation becomes smoother and more fluid while float at the nose increases, thanks to the way the profile funnels the snow down and under the nose.

Construction

Heading up the Flagships all-new construction is the advanced FSC Control Core. This combines poplar stringers with lightweight paulownia at a ratio of 2:1 to create a responsive yet lightweight core that delivers the perfect balance of performance and feel. To this, Jones then add structural layers formed from an all-new bi-ax lay up. These give the board a slightly more natural flex and work in perfect harmony with the Flax and Basalt stringers to provide the ideal balance of class-leading high-end performance and all-terrain versatility. Now to deliver a smoother overall feel, Jones fit the new Flagship with an FSC approved Engineered Veneer top sheet. Not only does this look great, but it also helps dampen out unwanted vibrations to deliver a more comfortable ride.

Base

As you would expect for such a performance inspired board, Jones doesn’t hold back when it comes to the base. Featuring a super high end 9900 sintered material, it’s one of the fastest glides out there.
