THE PLAYFUL BOARD THAT BLENDS PARK FEEL WITH ALL TERRAIN VERSATILITY

The Driver is a new addition to the Lobster range for this season and is aimed at riders who are looking for a playful easy going board that delivers a jibby park orientated ride, but which is still versatile enough to hit the rest of the mountain. Built around a blunt diamond profile, balanced twin tip shape and utilising Lobster’s versatile Twin 3BT profile, it delivers a predictable and confidence inspiring ride. So when you’re hitting rails and boxes, you can push yourself knowing that this is one board that isn’t going to punish your mistakes. Get the Driver away from the park, and it’s the same story. This is one board that you can take anywhere and it’ll never feel out of its comfort zone.

Rider Style

Beginners through to experienced riders who are looking for a versatile yet easy going board that takes little to no effort to get the best from.

Shape Overview

The Driver utilises a state of the art blunt diamond, tip and tail twin chassis. This versatile shape combines all the feel and control of a park board with the ride anything versatility you’d normally only expect with a directional board. This ensures that on those days when you want to hit up the park, it’ll give you all the feel and control that you could ever need. But on those days when the mountain calls, it’ll ensure that whatever and wherever you ride it’ll always deliver.

Profile

Key to the Driver’s perfect balance of park performance and all-terrain versatility is the innovative Twin 3BT with SideKicks base profile. This advanced 3D base profile combined with an overall traditional camber delivers genuinely stunning performance in all types of terrain. The Twin 3BT profile divides the base at the front and back of the board into three sections. The wide flat centre base aids stability in takeoffs and landings, while the two slightly narrower side-base parts with their mellow angled uplift, deliver that unique combination of the hook-free ride with increased edge hold and control.

Side Kicks

SideKick dramatically increases the side base uplift just outside the widest part of the nose and tail. This makes turn initiation smoother, increases float in powder and improves the handling of the board in rough terrain.

Construction

Internally, the Driver’s high-quality construction is headed up by the responsive Core core. This durable and lively wood core combines poplar with beech stringers running through the centre to deliver a dynamic flex through the length. This gives the board a solid and stable feel under the feet, inspiring you to push both yourself and the board. However, thanks to the torsionally softer bi-ax glass structural layers, that stable and responsive ride doesn’t come at the expense of the easy-going nature. Now to ensure that the Driver delivers a smooth ride, it also features the new Flex Wall technology. This adds Urethane to the sidewall, helping dampen unwanted vibrations but also helping to cushion the edge from hard impacts.

Base

To deliver excellent performance across all snow conditions, the Driver utilises the durable Super Slick X Base. This high quality extruded base has the highest molecular weight of any extruded base on the market. That means it’s tougher and faster while remaining virtually maintenance free.
