Steering clear of that urge to cut costs and produce what is really just a toy, Bataleon's engineers have taken elements from both the highly acclaimed Evil Twin and award-winning Goliath and have integrated them into a proper scaled-down snowboard for kids that really want to push the limits of their riding.
Built around a lightweight, balanced twin-tip platform it gives the rider all the control and feel that they could ever need. However, by utilising their versatile freestyle 3BT base profile, they've managed to give the board a level of performance over the rest of the mountain that really does defy its freestyle origins.
The unique 3BT base profile divides the base at the tip and tail into three equally-sized sections. The flat centre base gives a solid and stable feel, whilst the medium uplift side base sections deliver a hook-free ride, as well as making the edges work more efficiently and improving float in the pow. This creates a board that takes minimal effort to ride, but which also delivers great performance in any type of terrain and any riding style.
Internally Bataleon transplant the full-length wood core from the Evil Twin into the Mini Shred. Its combination of poplar with beech stringers running through the centre add pop and snap through the length, giving all the power you could ever need. However by utilising softer Bi-Ax glass structural layers, they've still managed to deliver a more playful freestyle feel, specially tuned to the lighter rider.
Finally, the easy to repair extruded base requires minimal maintenance to keep its speed, ensuring Mini Shred ownership is simple and pain-free.
