Sharing much of its DNA with the iconic Evil Twin, the Distortia is aimed at women riders who are looking for a more playful freestyle focused board, but who still want that versatility to explore the whole mountain. Built around a balanced twin tip shape, it delivers all the feel and control that you could ever need for even the most technical freestyle tricks.
However, thanks to its innovative Twin 3BT base profile (which adds a slightly wider flat base section at the tip and tail alongside shorter side base upturns and a mellow traditional camber profile) the Distortia delivers a level of performance outside the park that's on a par with most all-terrain specific boards, making this one the most versatile snowboards on the market.
For 2017 Bataleon have tweaked the construction stepping up the performance another notch and all without compromising its playful freestyle ride. Heading this up is the full-length wood core. This combines poplar with beech stringers to deliver a poppy flex through the length ensuring that the Distortia feels lively under the feet; but thanks to the slightly softer Bi-Ax glass structural layers it still gives that predictable and reassuring ride that park and rail riders need.
This season Bataleon have added Basalt cross braces under both feet, this adds more pop and power without really affecting the overall flex of the board.
Finally, the high molecular weight Super Slick X base is both tougher and faster than a traditional extruded base but still has that easy repair low maintenance performance that freestyle riders look for. For this season the Distortia is also available as a package with matching Switchback Static binding.
