Taking its DNA from Sims's iconic Blade, this all-new interpretation of one the most influential snowboards in the history of the sport is aimed at experienced riders who are looking for the ultimate high performance snowboard. Designed to bring that classic style of fast carving and deep powder snowboarding bang up-to-date, this totally stunning snowboard is the perfect choice for those riders that don't have that much interest in hitting the park and just want a board that lets them charge the whole mountain.
Built around a fully directional shape with traditional camber profile that adds early rise at the nose, the Blade has all the foundations in place to deliver that perfect freeride performance. Add to this the state-of-the-art Vario Power Grip sidecut, which adds additional bite points into the sidecut through a complex combination of varying radiuses, and it's plain to see that Sims aren't holding anything back when it comes to getting the very best performance from the Blade.
However it's when you look at what's going on inside that it becomes pretty clear that this isn't your ordinary run of the mill snowboard. Handmade in the USA, the Blade utilises some of the most advanced materials available, and heading this up is the lightweight hybrid core. This combination of both poplar and aspen delivers the perfect balance of durability and weight and sets up the ideal performance backbone for the board.
But, it's the structural layers that really set this board apart; these are formed from a combination of 45° Bi-Light fibreglass reinforced with STS pre-tensioned glass and carbon V-Bracing at the tip and tail. This high end construction gives the board a powerful torsional flex and adds drive and stability in the nose and tail. This inspires confidence to really push hard knowing that this is one board that won't let you down when you need it most. Now for such a powerful board the Blade isn't really one of those all or nothing type of rides. Thanks to the RDS2 dampening and the Elastomer Underfoot Stabilisers it still delivers a pretty smooth ride.
Finally the high-end Durasurf 4501 base gives the board a superfast glide in all conditions.
