For this season Yes’s designers and DCP have put their heads together and have come up with an all-new Pick Your Line shape, specifically designed for the high-performance Uninc Collection. Inspired by its sister board the Hybrid, the new Uninc Pick Your Line steps up the PYL’s highly acclaimed performance in the pow, all without compromising any of its legendary on-piste performance. Built around a fully tapered directional shape, the PYL Uninc’s all-new blunt-tipped powder-focused nose shape and new Coreless tail work perfectly with the increased width through the length to increase overall volume, improving both float and stability. Match this with the innovative tapered underbite sidecut, which gradually steps down the radius of the sidecut towards the tail, offsetting the impact of the taper on the arc of the sidecut, and not only do you get that added float and stability, but you also get a board that’s going to put it down on the piste unlike anything else out there. Shape Overview: Directional Tapered

The new PYL Uninc’s unique tapered shape features an all-new nose profile designed to offer powder board levels of lift and float, without compromising the length of the effective edge. By adding a shorter, blunt-tipped fuller nose profile that increases volume, Yes has gone down the route of adding volume rather than length to get that float at the front of the board. By doing this, they improve the board’s powder performance, but it also allows them to increase the length of the effective edge. Match that increased length with the Tapered UnderBite edge profile, and not only does the PYL Uninc step up it’s powder performance, but it also steps up its piste performance compared with the regular PYL. Tapered UnderBite divides the sidecut profile into three distinct parts. By stepping in the sidecut by 2mm at two different points along the edge, Yes's engineers create 3 different radii along the length of the edge. This innovative profile offsets the inherent flaws of a tapered sidecut where the arc of a standard sidecut is condensed as the board gets narrower along its length. This arc reduction stifles drive through the tail of the board, compromising the boards carving performance. Tapered Underbite creates a corrective "hook" to the taper by increasing the sidecut depth as you move towards the tail. This delivers the directional drive and float that you traditionally lose with a tapered board whilst increasing edge hold.

Profile

The PYL Uninc utilises an exclusive 1-4-1 version of YES's versatile CamRock profile. With the addition of the high volume nose, the designers can reduce the rocker in the nose allowing the contact points to engage earlier for a more responsive feel without compromising lift and float. This low rocker lift then blends into a powerful camber which, working in harmony with the short tail and low profile tail rocker, powers up the back of the board and drives it through the turn.

Construction

As you would expect for such a high-performance board, the PYL Uninc’s construction utilises some of the most advanced technology available. Heading this up is the all-new Coreless Tail wood core. Combining durable poplar with lightweight paulownia gives the perfect balance of pop, weight-saving, and durability. It also features the Coreless Tail technology. This removes the wood from the tail and replaces it with a lightweight composite. This saves a little bit of weight but more importantly, it adds an extra whip into the back of the board allowing you to pop out of turns faster. To this, Yes then add structural layers formed from a torsionally stiff tri-ax weave glass fibre. This poppy glass beefs up the torsional flex and ensures that no matter how hard or how fast you ride, you just know that the PYL Uninc will not let you down.

Base

As the Uninc PYL is all about performance, Yes, step up the base to a True Sintered material. True Sintered is harder and more expensive than extruded, and it can be faster for those that ride aggressively fast.
