Bataleon's Evil Twin has been at the forefront of freestyle snowboarding since it was introduced nearly 20 years ago. As one of the first boards to truly combine freestyle balance and control with all-terrain versatility, it established itself as a firm favourite for park riders who didn't want to be constrained out on the mountain. The fact that it's still at the top of its game so many years later is a testament to just how right Bataleon got this concept in the first place and how the board's constant evolution has kept it at the forefront of snowboard design and technology. For 23/24, Bataleon has once again redesigned the Evil Twin, increasing its all-terrain performance another notch, all whilst retaining that freestyle control that underpins the Evil Twin's personality. Built around an all-new blunt diamond-tipped twin shape, the Evil Twin delivers a fully balanced ride; this gives maximum control in the park, ensuring that even the most technical spins remain entirely predictable and controlled. However, thanks to the shape and that extra bit of length you get from the diamond tip design, not only is the Evil Twin balanced, but it also delivers way more lift than you'd usually expect from a true twin, so this is one freestyle board isn't going to feel all at sea when you want to get out onto the mountain.

Shape Overview: True Twin
The Evil Twin utilises a state-of-the-art diamond blunt tip and tail twin chassis. This unique, balanced shape delivers all the feel and control you could ever need, ensuring that you'll always feel in charge no matter how technical your park riding gets. However, thanks to the innovative nose and tail profile and 3BT base shape, the Evil Twin delivers remarkable performance away from the park.
Profile: Twin Triple Base
Key to the Evil Twin’s perfect balance of park performance and all-terrain versatility is the innovative Twin 3BT with SideKicks base profile. This advanced 3D base profile, combined with an overall traditional camber, delivers stunning performance in all types of terrain. The Twin 3BT profile divides the base at the front and back of the board into three sections. The broad flat centre base aids stability in takeoffs and landings. With their mellow angled uplift, the two slightly narrower side-base parts deliver that unique combination of the hook-free ride with increased edge hold and control.
Side Kicks
SideKick dramatically increases the side base uplift just outside the widest part of the nose and tail. This innovative technology makes turn initiation smoother, increases powder float and improves the board's handling in rough terrain.
Construction
Internally the Evil Twin combines tried and tested construction with state-of-the-art materials and design to deliver a genuinely stunning board. Heading this up is the all-new Ultra-Light Core. This super-light full-length wood core features a combination of 70% lightweight paulownia with 30% durable poplar, creating a responsive but featherweight foundation for the Evil Twin. To this, Bataleon then adds their innovative C.S.T reinforcing. By placing a hollow carbon rod into a central milled-out channel on the underside of the core, Bataleon's designers step up pop through the board's length, powering up the camber for a more responsive and dynamic ride. Continuing the Evil Twin's performance construction, its structural layers are formed from torsionally stiff tri-ax glass. These dynamic layers are then further reinforced with carbon cross-bracing under the inserts. These cross braces increase torsional stiffness under the bindings whilst still allowing the board to flex through the middle, relatively unhindered.
