Choosing a snowboard binding is sometimes overlooked when buying new kit - most spend an age looking at all the boards and trying on new boots, but after that, the binding gets chosen in a rush, generally because it’s a good colour match for the board.
But this approach does a disservice to one of the most vital parts of your snowboard set up. This simple, straightforward bit of plastic is entirely responsible for delivering the contact from you to the board, get it slightly wrong and that link fails.
So no matter how careful you were in choosing the rest of your set up, it won’t be working efficiently, which can lead to poor performance.
When choosing a binding, be sure to take into account what snowboard it will be fitted on, how responsive you would like it to be and what type of snowboarding you will be doing.
