The Whatever's legendary combination of freestyle-focused ride and all-terrain versatility has made it the go-to board for anyone who wants a relatively easy-going snowboard but is unwilling to compromise performance in any terrain or conditions. Built around a unique progressive mid-wide directional twin shape, it features a floaty extended nose and cut-back tail, making the Whatever look like a fully directional freeride board at first glance. However, look a little closer, and you'll spot that, not everything is what it seems. Ignore that cut-off tail and longer nose; you'll notice that everything in contact with the snow is a twin. So, you have a board that, although it looks like a directional board, rides with the same balance and control as a true twin under your feet. However, thanks to that cut-back tail and the extra length in the nose, it delivers the versatility of a regular all-terrain board, meaning that you get a well-balanced freestyle-focused overall ride. However, you still get excellent performance in the pow and when charging around on the piste. I guess the best way to describe the Whatever is the perfect shape for anyone who wants a full quiver in one board.

Rider Style

Intermediate to advanced riders looking for an easier-going yet high-performing board to let them ride everything on the mountain.

Shape Overview

The Whatever's directional twin chassis takes inspiration from freeride and freestyle snowboards to create a truly versatile board. The new diamond tip nose increases the volume at the front of the board without adding additional weight. This innovative shape increases the board's float at the front, making powder riding effortless without compromising the Whatever's freestyle performance. At the rear, the cut-back tail lets the back sink quickly, enhancing that pow performance but again without sacrificing the freestyle feel of the board. The mid-width chassis adds surface area to the board, creating a more floaty yet stable ride. It also allows you to ride at shallower angles without worrying about toe or heel drag.

Profile

The unique Twin 3BT with SideKicks base profile is key to the Whatever's versatile ride. This advanced 3D base, combined with an overall traditional camber, delivers stunning performance in all types of terrain. The Twin 3BT profile divides the base at the front and back of the board into three sections. The slightly wider flat centre base aids stability in take-offs and landings. At the same time, the two slightly narrower side-base sections with their mellow angled uplift deliver that unique combination of the hook-free ride with increased edge hold and control.

Side Kicks

SideKick dramatically increases the side base uplift just outside the widest part of the nose and tail. This makes turn initiation smoother, increases powder float and improves the board's handling in rough terrain.

Internals

To ensure the Whatever delivers stunning performance, Bataleon doesn't hold back when it comes to construction. Heading this up is the featherweight Light Core. Combining an even mix of poplar and paulownia, it delivers the perfect balance of lightweight, durability and playful performance. To this, Bataleon then adds their state-of-the-art D.S.T (Dual Super Tube) Technology. This innovative construction places two hollow carbon rods into milled-out channels on the base of the core, stepping up pop and powering up the camber for more snap and drive. To step up that pop and power even further, Bataleon integrates 5 carbon stringers between the inserts. These power up the more playful bi-ax glass structural layers to deliver the perfect balance of softer torsional flex with a powerful and responsive feel through the length.

Base

The high-quality Hyper Glide S sintered base is both fast and durable. Keep this waxd and it's going to give you a super-fast ride.
