Shape Overview
The Instigator utilises a versatile directional shape with 5mm of taper. This classic snowboard shape is designed to be ridden with a slightly longer nose than tail to concentrate pop in the back while still giving you plenty of float, flow, and control to rip any terrain or condition. The tapered shape means the nose is wider than the tail, promoting smooth turn entry and exit, stability at speed, and enhanced deep snow floatation.
Profile
To deliver optimum performance across different riding styles, the Instigator utilises Burton's versatile PurePop Camber. This evolution of a traditional camber shape features subtle flat zones just outside your feet to amplify pop and add playfulness to the snap and response of the camber. Early rise tip and tail sections spin and float with a catch-free feel.
Construction
Burton uses modern technology and traditional construction to ensure the Instigator delivers the perfect balance of easy-going and forgiving all-terrain ride with excellent performance. The advanced FSC™ Certified Super Fly® 800G Core with Dualzone™ EGD™ is heading this up. This state-of-the-art wood core uses dual-density vertical laminations of alternating softwood/hardwood to reduce overall weight without sacrificing strength or performance. Now, the core is re-profiled with Squeezebox Low to dial in the perfect easy-going flex. This profiling creates Stiffer zones just outside the feet, creating a more direct energy transfer to the tip and tail while enabling a softer, smoother flex between the bindings. It utilises bi-ax glass structural layers to give the Instigator its more forgiving ride. These deliver a playful, torsionally soft flex that makes learning a breeze.
