Rider Profile: Beginner to Intermediate All Terrain Riders.
The Hideaway is aimed at beginner to intermediate riders looking for a versatile and easy-going board to develop their riding skills.
Shape Overview: Tapered Directional
The Hideaway utilises a versatile tapered directional shape. This classic snowboard shape is designed to be ridden with a slightly longer nose than tail to concentrate pop in the tail while still giving you plenty of float and control to rip any terrain or condition. The 5mm tapered shape means the nose is wider than the tail, promoting smooth turn entry and exit, stability at speed, and enhanced floatation.
Profile: Flat Top
As the Hideaway is all about that balance of performance, versatility and easy-going nature, Burton fits it with their Flat Top profile. This versatile profile places a flat profile between the feet, meaning improved stability, better balance, and continuous edge control. The tip and tail kick up with an early rise outside the feet; this gives a reassuring catch-free ride and a playful, more forgiving feeling you’d expect from rocker.
Construction
Considering its price, the Hideaway takes advantage of some of the most advanced designs and manufacturing, usually only ever seen on higher-priced boards. The state-of-the-art FSC™ Certified Super Fly® 800G Core with Dualzone™ EGD™ is heading this up. This innovative wood core utilises dual-density vertical laminations of alternating softwood/hardwood to reduce overall weight without sacrificing strength or performance. To add extra control when on edge, the Hideaway utilises Burton’s Dualzone EGD. EGD re-positions the direction of the wood grain along the toe and heel edges in two continuous zones perpendicular to the core for more edge hold, response, and strength. To ensure the board delivers the optimum flex, it utilises Burton’s Squeezebox Low profiling; Squeezebox Low technology creates Stiffer zones just outside the feet, forming a more direct energy transfer to the tip and tail while enabling a softer, smoother flex between the bindings. The Hideaway’s forgiving ride is enhanced by adding bi-ax glass structural layers. These deliver a playful, torsionally soft flex that makes learning a breeze.
