SideKick tips raise the wide points off the snow, making it smoother to engage the edges and helping the nose plough through deep snow and crud. Shape Overview
The Thrusters directional shape is engineered to maximise effective edge length without compromising its all-terrain versatility. Its innovative blunt Diamond Nose Profile creates a stable low swing weight ride that adds increased feel and control to the rider, while the cut-back tail lets you drive the board out the back of the turn with complete confidence. Now, to help smooth out the ride in choppier terrain and to help give the tips additional lift and float in the pow, the Thruster also fatures SideKicks technology. Sidekicks lift the edges at the widest point of the nose and tail, increasing float, smoothing out the ride and making turn initiation effortless.
Profile
To ensure that the Thruster maximises its stunning performance across the whole mountain, Nidecker utilises a Directional Camber profile. This full-length camber provides extra grip and response while increasing stability and is perfect for riders looking for that balance of carving performance and all-terrain charging.
Construction
Internally, the Thruster is a tour-de-force of advanced snowboard construction. Heading this up is the super-light high-end Light Core. Combining poplar for durability, beech for pop and power, and paulownia for weight saving, the Light Core delivers the perfect foundation for the Thruster's outstanding performance. Nidecker then forms the structural layers from their responsive Tri-Ax Plus glass. This 45° tri-Ax fibreglass laminate delivers the optimum torsional flex, giving the board stability, control and power. Now, to add additional power at the tip and tail, the Thruster features Nideckers Pop Carbon stringers; running carbon stringers from the insert packs through to both the tip and tail powers up both ends of the board for a more dynamic turn entry and exit whilst still leaving the centre section of the board able to follow the arc of the carve/sidecut easier. To smooth out this high-end construction, the Thruster features the Absorbnid top sheet; this advanced material absorbs high-frequency vibrations, giving a smoother overall ride.
Base
The Thruster’s exclusive N-9000 base material is produced with carbon nanoparticles and has a very dense molecular structure. This makes it Nidecker’s fastest, most durable base material.
