Shape Overview
As the Highpath is about delivering a versatile all-terrain focussed ride, Salomon utilises a freeride-inspired tapered directional shape. Its longer blunt-tipped nose gives outstanding float in pow and easily cuts through chop; however, thanks to its innovative design, it's not overly heavy, giving the board a more controlled and playful overall feel. The shorter tail design drops the back of the board in the pow for pain-free powder performance whilst working in harmony with the taper to give a predictable and stable feel through the turn. Designed to cut swing weight to an absolute minimum while allowing the nose to rise in even the deepest snow, it's the perfect shape for an all-terrain board. Helping step up the piste performance even further is the Quadratic sidecut. This complex sidecut design allows the designers to perfectly match the shape and flex of the board to deliver optimum performance through the turn.
Profile
Salomon utilises their state-of-the-art Rock Out Camber to ensure that the Highpath delivers the perfect all-terrain versatility. This complex profile combines rocker zones at the contact points with a camber under the feet and a flat section between the bindings. This unique profile delivers a versatile ride, ensuring that no matter what or where you ride, you know that this board never feels wanting.
Construction
The Highpath balances performance with sustainability to create the perfect all-terrain snowboard. Heading this up is the FSC Certified Aspen Select Popster core. This hand-selected wood core is specially profiled to give the perfect balance of a playful ride but with a more responsive feel. To this, Salomon then adds their unique ABC Wrapper structural layers. These combine medium-density bi-ax glass with structural wood veneers to reduce fibreglass and resin content in each board by 40%.
Regarding Resin, the Highpath uses a bio-resin with 28% of its molecular structure derived from plants. To give the board a more damped feeling and add additional pop, it features CFX Basalt. Integrating basalt strands into the fibreglass matrix provides an optimal ratio of weight, power, and dampening.
Base
To finish the Highpath's high spec, Salomon uses their tough and fast 50% recycled sintered base. 50% recycled base material's reduce waste without sacrificing glide!
