Combining Union's experience in designing and building some of the best bindings available with the knowledge from some of the world's best big mountain riders, the Explorer is one of the most advanced split board bindings available. Designed to deliver a zero-compromise ride, this innovative binding delivers outstanding performance in both tour and riding modes. So much so it even comes with a separate mounting kit to transfer these between your split and regular board. Built around a lightweight and rigid design, the Explorer ensures that at no point does your riding ever feel compromised by a lack of performance. Yet, even on the most extended hikes, it feels comfortable and supportive. Changeover from touring mode to riding mode is quick and easy, thanks to the advanced spring-loaded pin system, ensuring you can quickly and easily switch over even in the harshest conditions.

Split Disk 2.0
This innovative mounting system is compatible with the industry standard Voile mounting system.
Quiver Disk
Attaches to your regular board allowing you to quickly and easily transfer your Explorer bindings between boards.
Split Pin System: The Union Split System is one of the simplest and quickest mounting systems available. To switch to the Split System to Ride-Mode, place the binding on the Split Disk 2.0 disc on the board, insert the long pin under the baseplate and you're ready to go. To change the binding back to the Touring-Mode, pull out the pin, place the binding on the touring brackets and then push the pin back in.
SP2 Duraflex CB Baseplate: Blended with carbon fibre, Duraflex CB is lighter and considerably stiffer than typical fibreglass injected nylon parts. Duraflex material was specifically engineered to maintain consistent flex in a wide range of cold temperatures. This combination of materials is perfect for splitboarding as it adds rigidity to the binding ensuring optimal energy transfer back to the board.
Extruded 3D Aluminium Adjustable Heelcup: This allows you to adjust the width of the binding to give you the perfect fit and centring of the boot.
EXP2 Duraflex Highback: This advanced highback has been designed specifically for the demands of splitboarding. It features an adjustable quick-snap forward lean adjuster that goes easily from tour to riding mode with the flick of your fingers.
