Shape Overview: Tapered Directional

The Story Board utilises an advanced, blunt-tipped, fully directional tapered shape. This classic snowboard profile is designed to be ridden with a slightly longer nose than tail to concentrate pop in the tail while still giving you plenty of float, flow, and control to rip any terrain or condition. The 10mm tapered shape means that the nose is wider than the tail, promoting smooth turn entry and exit, stability at speed, and enhanced deep snow flotation. The blunt tip design removes excess material from the length cutting weight back at the tip. This gives the board a more balanced feel giving the rider more control without compromising lift and float at the nose.

Profile: Directional Camber

As the Story Board is all about maximising its performance across such a wide spectrum of riding styles and terrain, Burton utilises their Directional Camber profile. This combination of extended rocker in the nose with a set-back camber under the feet delivers the perfect balance of float and response. Entry rocker causes the nose to lift while the camber under both feet maintains momentum and stability through deep-driving turns and variable conditions.

Construction

As one of the best boards in its class, the Story Board utilises some of the most up-to-date construction available. Heading this up is the advanced Squeezebox FSC Super Fly II™ 700G Core with Dualzone™ EGD™. This state-of-the-art profiled wood core uses stronger and lighter woods targeted to specific areas of the core, providing pop, strength, and reduced weight. Now to fine-tune the core even further, the wood grain along the toe and heel edges runs perpendicular to the rest of the wood core. This gives consistent edge hold and adds strength. When it comes to the board's structural layers, once again the Story Board leads the way. Formed from Burton's unique women's specific tri-ax glass, it delivers a torsionally responsive ride without being overly stiff. To add extra power through the length, it features a carbon I beam running tip to tail. This creates a more poppy flex increasing drive and power through the turn.

Base

To deliver a super-fast glide in all conditions, the Story Board uses Burton’s exclusive WFO Base. This unique base material Infuses a specially formulated wax deep into the pores of this extra-absorbent, high-density sintered material. This results in an ultra-durable base that stays Wide Open all season in any condition.
