At first glance, the Nidecker Supermatic appears to be a regular strap binding; it's got a traditional highback, baseplate, straps and buckles. Riding delivers the same performance and feel as a regular, high-end binding, and you can get in and out of it like a regular two-strap binding. However, what makes the Supermatic so special and unique is that it's also got an easy entry and exit mode. Push the lever on the side, and you'll notice that the highback drops backwards and the straps lift, giving you easy slip-in access to the binding. As you step down, the highback automatically comes back up, and the straps re-tension over the top of your foot. These lock into place with a couple of clicks, and you're ready to go. To release, push the lever again, flex your foot into the strap and the highback drops, the straps loosen off, and you step out. Unlike other easy entry systems where the highback forms the heel cup of the binding, the Supermatics heel cup is fixed as per a traditional two-strap binding. This game-changing design means that the Supermatic's ingenious entry and exit system retains a traditional baseplate design, ensuring that, at last, you can have an easy entry binding with zero negative effect on performance. In other words, you can have your cake and eat it.

Drop-In Technology
This technology was developed to allow easy opening and closure in complete safety. Multiple notches allow the binding to lock shut from the first click; there are three in total, which allow closure even if obstructed by snow accumulation.
Hybrid Exo Frame Ankle Strap
The Supermatic utilises the advanced Hybrid Exo Frame Ankle Strap. This innovative injected strap design with a foot-hugging Auxetic pattern is connected to one corner of the toe strap by a diagonal cross piece. This unique strap design spreads pressure over more of your foot and gives you a more locked-in hold without having to crank the straps tight. Auxetic Straps
An auxetic shape is one that, when deformed, can do so without stressing the material itself. A pattern of 3D hinges on the ankle and toe straps means that when it stretches to accommodate the boot, it does so without focusing the stress in any one place, giving a perfect fit without causing discomfort or damaging your equipment.
Reclining Highback
The Reclining Highback creates the fastest automatic entry system. It fully folds down, creating a large opening to drop in your boot conveniently.
Active Strap
As you recline the highback, the strap gets actively lifted out of the way, so you can quickly and conveniently get your boot in and out. The straps hug your boot with the tightness at which you
first set them each & every time you drop in.
Slip and Grip Plate
The Slip and Grip plate reduces friction with the outsole of your snowboard boot. Allows you to easily slide in and out without compromising the underfoot comfort of the 2.5° Bankbeds.
Heelcup Rollers
The heel cup roller reduces friction and guides the boot's heel down for buttery-smooth entry and exit.
Hybrid Straps
The Hybrid Strap is designed to feel and work like a two-strap; its ankle-toe connection keeps the straps in place for easy entry. The straps also transfer energy more efficiently, allowing the binding to be ridden a bit less tight.
Heel Pedal
The heel pedal activates the automatic closing of the highback and straps and locks the engagement system. This mechanism is self-cleaning to avoid snow build-up, and there are three engagement clicks for increased security.
Release Lever
Push to unlock the engagement system and lift your boot up & out. The release lever is located on the medial side of the baseplate for maximum ergonomic efficiency and protection from external triggers.
Locking Strap Ratchets (LSR)
The advanced Locking Slap Ratchet buckles can be used like regular buckles if you want to ride the Supermatic as a regular two-strap binding. When in step-in mode, lock them into place with the Set-it and Forget-it mode for a simple step in and out.
