Aimed at experienced, aggressive riders looking for a powerful and responsive all-terrain charger, the Superpig is the perfect choice for anyone who wants to rip up the whole mountain. Sharing the same award-winning volume-shifted fully directional shape as the Warpig, which means that you downsize by 6 to 10cm, the Superpig ups the ante compared to its more restrained sibling, ensuring that no matter how hard or how fast you ride, this is one board that’s going to handle it. Built around a wide but short chassis that traded length for volume and matched with a super tight dual radius sidecut, the Superpig delivers a dynamic, stable ride that feels responsive and lively underfoot. Super floaty in powder, lightning-fast and powerful on the piste, the Superpig is a beast of a board that taunts you to ride faster and harder.
Rider Style: Advanced Freeriders
The Superpig is aimed at expert freeriders looking for a short and wide high-end snowboard that delivers game-changing performance on the piste and in the pow.
Shape Overview: Volume Shifted Directional
The Superpig’s advanced tapered volume-shifted directional shape is designed to deliver the perfect balance of on-piste control with off-piste lift and float. The most obvious sign of this is the exaggerated blunt nose shape. This innovative nose design provides effortless lift and float without feeling weighty or unwieldy. Ride, then match this with a wide central platform under the feet. By adding width rather than length, you still get the same surface area but get that surface area in a far more manoeuvrable form, creating a floaty yet nimble board. The extra width also works well with Superpig’s aggressive sidecut geometry by reducing toe and heel drag to an absolute minimum. This extra width results in a board that not only works great in the pow but a board you can crank it with on the piste.
Profile: Directional Extra Camber
The Superpig’s Directional Extra Camber profile combines an extended rocker at the nose with a powerful setback camber under the feet. This responsive combination steps up the performance of the Superpig another notch from the standard Warpig’s Directional Rocker profile. Hybrid-Camber delivers excellent lift and float at the front of the board, while the camber under the feet creates a solid and stable ride on edge while upping pop and power through the length.
Construction
Internally the Superpig utilises Ride’s high-end Carbon Array 5 construction. Heading this up is the responsive Performance core. Constructed from a combination of high-strength Aspen, poppy Bamboo and lightweight Paulownia, it provides the perfect balance of strength, power and weight. Sitting on top of this are the Double Impact plates, which cushion the bindings from hard landings and add an extra layer of defence against core compression. Now it’s at the structural layers where you see the differences between the Warpig and the Superpig. In this instance, they are formed from Ride’s advanced Carbon Infused glass. This advanced material adds 90° Carbon fibres stitched into the glass, adding extra pop and response without adding stiffness. These are then further reinforced with the addition of the Carbon Array 5 reinforcing. By placing five-carbon strips running from the carbon-reinforced contact points through the binding zones at both the tip and tail, Ride powers up the contact points, creating a faster and more responsive tip and tail engagement without compromising torsional twist through the centre of the board. The rigid carbon slim wall design rolls over the top sheet and reduces the thickness of the sidewall. This innovative design enhances energy transfer creating a more responsive and dynamic ride.
