Designed in collaboration with Arthur Longo, this resort-destroying snowboard is aimed at experienced riders looking for a performance focussed board that can make lite work of the most demanding terrain. From charging groomers to waist-deep powder runs, side-hit hunting, and even hitting pro-line booters in the park, this stunning snowboard takes it in its stride, turning the whole mountain into one giant playground. Shape Overview
The Aeronaut is built around an advanced tapered directional chassis. This innovative design takes inspiration from the classic freeride shape with the longer/fuller nose profile and short tail. This versatile shape ensures that the board easily cuts through chop and crud whilst delivering outstanding float and drive out the back of the board. The 2cm setback of the stance again helps float, but it also again helps drive through the back of the turn. Now to add extra power to that final part of the turn, the Aeronaut features a dual-radius sidecut. The longer arc in the first part of the sidecut gives a smooth turn initiation, whilst the tighter arc at the back of the board adds drive and power through the final half of the turn.
Profile
To ensure that the Aeronaut can take full advantage of any terrain or conditions, it utilises Capita's powerful ALPINE V3 Profile. The most powerful of all Capita's camber profiles, Alpine V3 has a deeper traditional camber that zero's out before the end of the sidecut. The small zero-camber sections provide a more controlled ride while retaining the deeper camber's powerful and poppy response.
Construction
Regarding construction, the Aeronaut is a showcase for Capita's Mothership production facility. Heading up its state-of-the-art build is the lightweight Panda Hover Core. Manufactured from a combination of lightweight, low-density Paulownia and durable Poplar beams, it features two powerful bamboo rods running either side of the insert pack. These power up the board through the length, underpinning its poppy flex. To add even more power to the board, Capita adds its Amplitex V-Tech Amplifier technology. By adding 25mm carbon forks running from the front insert pack to the front contact points and a 25mm carbon beam from the rear inserts to the tail, the Aeronaut gets lightning-fast turn initiation with a super powerful pop at the back of the board, kind of what you'd expect for a rider who's probably the best side-hit rider in the world. Now to ensure that the Aeronaut still delivers a great ride, the structural layers are formed from a combination of tri-ax glass on the upper band and bi-ax on the lower band. This more compliant glass ensures that the board still rides great and isn't overly powerful.
Base:
The super-fast all-new sintered Hyperdrive ADV base has an ultra-high molecular weight. This dense base material is super durable, fast and holds wax longer.
