Nidecker's evergreen Venus redefines all-terrain performance for experienced riders on a tighter budget. Built around a state-of-the-art, directional silhouette with a 10 mm set back stance, this ride-anything board is effortless in deep snow, versatile enough for some switch riding if you like to get creative on side hits or take a few laps through the park, all whilst delivering a rock solid and confidence-inspiring ride on the piste. Under the hood, the Venus combines the durable and lively Master Core with the torsionally responsive Triax Plus structural layers. This combination delivers a responsive and poppy ride that belies its price. Now although you've got excellent performance, thanks to the more forgiving nature of the CamRock profile and the vibration-absorbing Absobnid top sheet, the Venus delivers that performance with effortless aplomb, meaning that this is one board you're just going to want to ride all day and every day.
Rider Style
Intermediate to more advanced riders looking for a high-performing all-terrain board that can take on any terrain and conditions.
Shape Overview
The Venus's directional shape is engineered to create a versatile ride across the entire mountain. Its innovative blunt Diamond Nose Profile allows the nose to rise quickly in deep snow, while the shorter tail reduces surface area at the rear of the board, allowing the tail to sink. The 10mm setback works in harmony with the shape to give great float in the pow without affecting the board's more all-terrain-focused ride.
Profile
Now, to give the Venus its more predictable ride and enhance its versatility even further, Nidecker fits its ride anything CamRock. This versatile camber profile features rocker zones just outside the insert packs, blending into a flat section between the feet. This combination of rocker and camber results in a solid and stable ride on edge, float in the pow and a hook-free playful feel in the park.
Construction
Internally, the Venus uses high-quality materials and traditional snowboard manufacturing to deliver its responsive and dynamic ride. Heading this up is the high-quality Master core. Combining poplar for durability, beech and spruce for pop and power, and paulownia for weight saving delivers the perfect foundation for the Venus's excellent performance. This poppy and responsive wood core is then matched with Nidecker's responsive TriAx Plus structural layers. This 45° tri-Ax fibreglass laminate delivers the optimum torsional flex, giving the board stability, control and power. Now, to add additional power at the tip and tail, the Venus features Nideckers Pop Carbon stringers; running carbon stringers from the insert packs through to both the tip and tail powers up both ends of the board for a more dynamic turn entry and exit whilst still leaving the centre section of the board able to follow the arc of the carve/sidecut easier. Finishing off the Escape's construction is the Absorbnid top sheet; this advanced material absorbs high-frequency vibrations, giving a smoother overall ride.
Base
To ensure that the Venus delivers excellent glide in all conditions, Nidecker fits it with their low maintenance N-5000 extruded base.
