The ATV has been a stalwart of the Sims collection for nearly 3 decades. Aimed squarely at performance-focused riders looking for a ride anything all-terrain charger, it’s the perfect choice for anyone who wants to hit up everything that the mountain can throw at them. Jam-packed with some of the most up to date design and technology available, this all-mountain icon opens up the whole mountain no matter the conditions or terrain. Built around a long-nosed twin shape, which means everything that’s in contact with the snow is twin, but with a bit more length in the nose, the ATV delivers the optimum balance of freestyle feel with all-mountain performance. Or, to put in more simple terms, it feels balanced underfoot for park laps, but it will float in the pow and blast through chop. However, that’s not all; the ATV is an absolute blast to ride on piste. Its combination of traditional camber profile and snake bite edge tech adds extra traction zones to the sidecut at the toes and heels. It delivers a rock-solid edge hold that gives you the confidence to let it go when charging around the resort.
Rider Style: All Terrain
Intermediate to expert riders looking for a versatile board that won’t hold them back in any terrain or conditions.
Shape Overview: All Terrain Long Nose Twin
The ATV uses an advanced twin tip shape that combines modern technology with classic all-terrain snowboard thinking. Featuring a longer nose and tail profile, the ATV delivers class-leading levels of float in deep snow. The traditional camber profile works perfectly with the advanced SNAKE BITE TECH 1.8 edge technology on the piste. This technology adds extra bite from four individual contact points in the heel and toes zones. These provide essential control to keep that edge fully engaged on even the hardest piste.
Profile: Traditional Camber
The ATV’s camber profile is formed from a single convex arc between the board’s contact points. This responsive profile powers up the whole length of the edge, ensuring predictable edge hold and rebound as pressure is exerted and expelled throughout the rider’s turn.
Construction
When it comes to construction, the ATV doesn’t hold back. Heading up the high-end built is the responsive Masters Core. Built utilising lightweight poplar with two tip-to-tail bamboo stringers running lengthwise through the centre, it delivers a smooth, yet overall poppy feel. To step the response up another level, Sims then use a 3-way lay up that combines Light Tri-Tex fibreglass at 0º, 45º, and 90º degrees, ensuring unquestionable pop, rebound, flex, and increased torsional flex. This is then further reinforced with two tip-to-tail carbon stringers through the centre of the core increasing torsional rigidity, improving both response and control.
Base: Premium Racing (High Molecular Sintered)
Utilising industry-leading technology from ISOSPORT, this high-density, high-speed base material is chosen for its molecular weight. This delivers unrivalled speed, excellent wear resistance, and increased wax permeability.
