Profile: Traditional Camber
The Nub's traditional camber profile is formed from a single convex arc between the board's contact points. This responsive profile powers up the whole length of the edge, ensuring predictable edge hold and rebound as pressure is exerted and expelled throughout the rider's turn.
Construction
The Nub utilises some of the most advanced materials available when it comes to construction. Heading this up is the advanced Unitive Core. This tip-to-tail wood core features Light poplar construction with wider bands of more rigid Standard Poplar running along the edges, delivering increased control and stability at high speeds. To give the Nub that smooth all-terrain feel, the core is profiled with Sims's Twin Wave Form. This innovative design creates thick and thin zones through the length of the core, increasing drive, flex, and control. Sims uses a 3-way structural layer to step up the response that combines Light Tri-Tex fibreglass at 0º, 45º, and 90º. These deliver high pop, rebound, and flex and increase torsional stiffness. To ramp up power even further, Sims add a 50mm thick carbon fibre stringer running through the centre of the core. This powers up the flex through the length giving the Nub a powerful and poppy flex while adding extra stability.
