Thank U Snowboarding Podcast - S1 EP15 - Ian Felton

If you’re reading this, there’s a pretty good chance you love snowboarding. We do too, so much so that we decided to make a podcast waxing poetic about it. Thank U Snowboarding is a celebration of the UK snowboard scene, a deep dive into its journey from ‘Ban This Killer Craze’ to the mainstream and a nostalgia-fuelled look back at the glory years. Each week we’ll sit down with an influential figure, exploring the past, present and future of the sport and remind ourselves why we leapt headfirst down the snowboarding rabbit hole in the first place.

This week, Chris Cracknell sits down with Ian Felton. Ian has been involved in the scene since the early days, from founding Kaos Mountain Wear and bringing us Kaos The Movie, to his work with the British Snowboard Association and World Snowboard Federation. From the early beginnings with a retail bike shop in Bromley, that then became a skate shop, to then gaining Santa Cruz Snowboards for national distribution. With a do it yourself approach and roots in skateboarding, Ian saw the opportunity in a sport that was about to take off and decided to carve his own path in to it.
