Help Support The Next Action Sport Olympians
Graystone Action Sports (GAS) are building a world-class action sports facility in Manchester to help discover, train and develop the next set of British Olympians. As well as supporting the upper echelons of the sport, the project will work closely with the local community and schools to encourage all children into sport.
A public facility for all to use:
“Graystone Action Sports Academy Manchester will be a 35,000 sqft indoor action sports paradise packed with ramps, jumps, foam pits, trampolines, a bowl, multiple pump tracks, parkour terrain, sprung floor area, skate plaza, climbing wall, digital media studios, dance and yoga studio and Ninja Warrior course and the UK's first and only big air to foam pit. And of course, a place to get your equipment serviced and grab something to eat and drink.“
Why build this facility?
- Over 140 million people in Europe between the ages of 15-34 now participate in the four biggest action sports of snowboard, ski, skateboard and surf.
- Skateboard, freestyle BMX, free ski, snowboard and sport-climbing are all now Olympic Sports (the Academy will host Team GB Park and Pipe training sessions).
- GAS believe that education is much more than just sitting in a classroom.
- GAS want to increase the youth participation in sports and combat the health issues impacting our children.
Where will the facility be located?
The facility will be located close to Manchester city centre with excellent transport links and is minutes away from Salford Crescent Train Station. Accessible to all parts of the UK, Manchester’s central location in the UK makes it for everyone.
How can you help?
With your help GAS will be able to raise the last bit of funding needed for the facility, gather more support and open (as planned) this Autumn 2018.
