Thank U Snowboarding Podcast - S1 EP4 Becci Malthouse

If you’re reading this, there’s a pretty good chance you love snowboarding. We do too, so much so, in fact, that we decided to make a podcast waxing poetic about it. Thank U Snowboarding is a celebration of the UK snowboard scene, a deep dive into its journey from ‘Ban This Killer Craze’ to the mainstream and a nostalgia-fuelled look back at the glory years. Each week we’ll sit down with an influential figure, exploring the past, present and future of the sport and remind ourselves why we leapt headfirst down the snowboarding rabbit hole in the first place.

For Episode 4, host Chris Cracknell talks to Becci Malthouse, 11-time National Champion and certified ripper. Becci started out skiing, putting in considerable time at her local dry slope before taking to snowboarding like a fish to water, she went on to dominate the competitive circuit during its formative days, and these experiences went on to influence her throughout the setup of BASS (British Alpine Ski School) in Morzine and Les Gets in the early 2000s. Becci’s roots in snowboarding run deep, so deep you were hard-pressed to buy kit in the UK when she first strapped in, but more than twenty years on she still gets the buzz when putting in turns. Becci’s a lifer, with an incredible story that spans decades of British snowboard history.
